Psoriasi: Da Mostro a Cigno con la Paleo Diet AIP

Psoriasis: From Monster to Swan with the AIP Paleo Diet

I was devastated by scabs, sores, itching, and pain. The doctors wanted to give me cortisone, and I even went into depression: a disaster.

Then you discover Claudio Tozzi and…

Anna D'Onofrio

After an adolescence of suffering with an Italian "S" shaped scoliosis, with a 49 degree curvature (almost requiring surgery), with 6 years (12-18) of corrective brace, casts, insoles and two years of dental braces (18-20), it finally seemed that the swan I wanted to be was coming out...

The ugly duckling was gone...

Three years later, however, the "swan" decided to give way to a monster: psoriasis had covered my entire body (with even psoriatic arthritis).

Only her hands and nails remained unscathed. Everything else was a succession of scabs and sores, both itchy and painful.

A layer of crusts about a centimeter thick covered my entire head, forehead, and eyebrows.

I was starting to lose my hair, I lost almost all my eyebrows and I could no longer practice dance, my job and passion that had given me the strength, as a teenager, to face other problems that, in comparison, seemed like a walk in the park.

Cortisone didn't work, nor did any other cream, much less phototherapy. The only solution, my doctor said, was to undergo monthly injections, which, however, would have serious side effects.

And, anyway, my psoriasis was deemed incurable. I fell into a deep depression and started taking mild antidepressants.

Everything seemed meaningless. Until one day, the doctor's words turned on a light bulb in me.

He told me to avoid all black clothes and foods containing nickel.

I started researching online about a possible diet to follow for my condition and found the autoimmune paleo diet proposed by Claudio Tozzi.

I had never imagined that nutrition could determine and cure some diseases.

I was convinced it was all a matter of genetics and bad luck.

Furthermore, having always been thin, I never felt the need to follow a proper diet because my body seemed to take no notice.

Well, after just one month of autoimmune paleo my psoriasis decreased by 50%.

The psoriatic arthritis disappeared.

Within six or seven months, the psoriasis had completely disappeared. The monster I saw in the mirror had once again given way to the "swan."

I am not exaggerating when I say that Claudio Tozzi saved my life.

And, perhaps the story seems a bit fictionalized, but I assure you, that's exactly how it happened. Thanks, Claudio.

Thanks, paleo...
